White Horse Whisperers

( Appearing in the grids as:White Horse Whispere )

White Horse Whisperers are a contemporary folk band from Faringdon, Oxfordshire. Formed in 2013 on the back of the musicians equivalent of a ‘lonely hearts’ ad (“anyone want to start a folk band?”) the versatile trio of multi-instrumentalists quickly established themselves on the local folk scene. With a growing repertoire of original material inspired by their diverse musical heritage, geographical and historical roots, interspersed with their own takes on traditional folk songs and tunes, the band combine strong vocals and harmonies with an ever growing collection of instruments to stirring effect. Exhuberant and exciting live performers, White Horse Whisperers regularly play established venues such as Cornerstone Arts Centre, Didcot and The Unicorn Theatre, Abingdon, and have enjoyed supporting renowned folk artists such as Megson, The Willows and Johnny Coppin. They recently supported Sunday night headliners Leveret at Folk Weekend Oxford; a second consecutive appearance by WHW at one of the highlights of the UK folk festival calendar... “...a wonderful Faringdon based folk trio who will get your feet tapping, your hands clapping and your legs itching to dance” –Cornerstone Arts Centre, 2015
