Aidan and the Wildfires join the Line-up
New Year, New Music
7 January 2016 by James
As we welcome in the new year here at Folk Festival HQ, we have some phenomenally brilliant new music announcements that will get you in that summer mood.
Since September, we have been announcing just a small handful of what's to come at Wimborne Minster Folk Festival 2016 but it doesn't stop here, there are plenty more to come.
Our recent additions include: Mawkin, a nominee of a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award and one of brit-folks brightest new guns: a blistering 5-piece band fusing folk, blues and rock. The String Contingent, an instrumental trio that compose and perform music of sparkling beauty. Aidan and the Wildfires, who formed in 2015 and have since gained a residency at the legendary Troubadour, London and have been championed by BBC Introducing. The Littlest Fox, based on the other side of the world in Australia, they're making a stop in Wimborne on their first European Tour. Ian W Brown, a man with a vast history of co-writing chart topping hits over the years.
We've only listed some of the exciting acts that are coming to Wimborne in June 2016, there are loads more on our Music Line-up page and so much more to come throughout January and following months.
