Jack Cookson

Plymouth based vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jack Cookson, combines dry and visceral word play with intricate finger-style guitar arrangements, to create emotionally charged yet honest and memorable songs. Stylistically influenced by roots music from both sides of the Atlantic, Jack has shared the stage with the legendary likes of Ralph McTell, Louis Berry, Franz Nicolay & Cory Branan, and in 2016, he was a finalist in the Young Folk category at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2016. Over the years since his debut album Revolt & Resolve (2015), he has gigged relentlessly across the UK, Europe and Canada, as well as independently recording a follow up EP entitled Chamfer (2018), which is also his first vinyl release.

"A dexterous and playful way with words which would challenge composers many times his age." - Folk Radio UK

"Captivating" - Emily Barker (Applewood Road/Red Clay Halo)
